Abstract

ABSTRACT

The lathe machine in Machine Shop Politeknik Negeri Jakarta has been aged about 30 years. Due to its old age, the lathe machine is required to be inspected. The inspection includes measurement of main spindle concentricity, headstock axis straightness to the tailstock, axis alignment to the machine bed, axis perpendicularity to sled latitude, and machine backlash.
After inspection is conducted, it is found that the deviation is appraoching the tolerance value. Axis concentricity=0.0198 mm (tolerance=0.02 mm), axis straightness=0.0344 mm (tolerance=0.04 mm), axis allignment=0.0281 mm (tolerance=0.03 mm), axis perpendicularity = 0.0198 mm (tolerance=0.02 mm), and backlash = 0.098 mm (tolerance = 0.02 mm). Even though the deviation is large, the result of the measurement is still inside the limit of tolerance. It is recommended to calibrate the lathe machine because the deviation value is approaching the tolerance value.

ABSTRAK

Mesin bubut di Bengkel Mesin Politeknik Negeri Jakarta sudah berumur kurang lebih 30 tahun. Karena sudah lama, maka sudah saatnya diadakan pengecekan. Pengecekan yang antara lain meliputi, pengukuran kosentrisitas spindle utama, pengukuran kelurusan sumbu headstock terhadap tailstock, pengukuran kesejajaran sumbu terhadap bed mesin, pengukuran ketegaklurusan sumbu terhadap eretan lintang mesin, dan pengukuran backlash mesin.
Setelah dilakukan pengukuran didapatkan penyimpangan mendekati nilai toleransi, yaitu pengukuran kosentrisitas sumbu = 0.0198 mm (diizinkan=0.02 mm), kelurusan sumbu = 0.0344 mm (diizinkan = 0.04 mm, kesejajaran sumbu = 0.0281 mm (diizinkan = 0.03 mm), ketegaklurusan sumbu = 0.0198 mm (diizinkan = 0.02 mm), dan pengukuran Backlash = 0.098 mm (diizinkan = 0.02 mm). Meskipun cukup besar, nilai data pengukuran masih dalam batas toleransi. Disarankan, mesin bubut Maximat V13, sebaiknya dikalibrasi, karena nilai penyimpangan yang didapat sudah mendekati nilai penyimpangan yang diizinkan.
