Abstract

ABSTRACT

Product X is a flexible packaging for instant noodle products printed using the rotogravure printing technique. Based on production data for January 2022 - Decemberr 2022, Product X has a numberdefect highest in the category of instant noodle packaging. PT XYZ produced 2,590,200 meters of product X and was founddefective in the printing process (printing) is close to 6%, namely as much as 146,400 meters. Meanwhile, PT XYZ determines the maximum tolerance limit for the productdefective 4.5% of total production. The main objective of this research is to identify the causative factorsdefect and using methodsStatistical Process Control (SPC). The results of the study show that there are 3defect dominant namely the results of shadow printing (47%),miss register (29%), and beret (8%). The results of the research show the factor of product occurrencedefect caused by human factors, namely operators who are not careful, machine factors, namelyspare part damaged monitors, as well as dirty environmental factors.
