Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or RTF document file format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.

Author Guideline

Jurnalistik dan Media (JJM) is a journal published by the Program Studi Perbitan, Jurusan Teknik Grafika dan Penerbitan (TGP, or Graphic Engineering and Publishing Department), Politeknik Negeri Jakarta. The journal is published bi-annually (in April and October). It focuses on studies about journalism and media broadly, multiplatform, as well as other disciplines that relate to journalism such as communication, language, journalism education, professional journalism, citizen journalism,  journalism ethics, and other journalism-related social sciences topics.

GENERAL GUIDE

  1. All manuscripts must be submitted through the JJM Online Submission system.
  2. The article is original guaranteed by the writer and is not published in other journals/proceedings.
  3. The statement's contribution toward the development of science and technology is from the new findings/ideas/opinions that prioritize the current primary references during the last ten years. We expect the author able to state the problem as well as the novelty in the introduction section. (e.g. there are few number of research….; the novelty of this research…; etc.).
  4. The review process is conducted by a blind review process with the peer group system, which is reinforced by the qualified reviewers in their field.
  5. The JJM editorial team reserves the right to revise the style of writing with a note that it does not change the intent and quality of the article.
  6. The results of the reviewing articles can be: Accepted with minor revisions, Received with major revisions, Suggested to be sent to another appropriate journal, Rejected.

SPECIAL GUIDE

The Writing Guidance

  1. The article is well-written in English approximately a minimum of 5000 words and a maximum of 8000 words. Typed single space for the abstract. One and a half space for content and references. Written by font Times New Roman 12pt size and indent for paragraphs are 1cm.
  2. Page size A4 with margin Left 3,5, Up 3,5, Right 2, and  Bottom 2.
  3. The font size for the title is Times New Roman 18 pt; it is capitalized, bolded, and centered.
  4. Table: All table forms as an example. The table title is placed on the table with the left justified. 
  5. Picture: All picture form as an example. The picture title is placed under the picture in center.     

Format of The Article

Title

  1. Title writing max 16 words.
  2. Must be written in Capitalize Each Word style. 
  3. There is no Abbreviation.

Author/s

  1. The article is written by a maximum of six authors.
  2. Author/s name without any titles.
  3. Author's affiliation, country, and email.

Abstract

  1. The abstract should include the purpose of the research, data/object of research, method, result, or conclusion.
  2. Writing abstracts of a maximum of 300 words. If an article is written in Bahasa, an abstract in Bahasa must be provided.
  3. Use Font Time New Roman size 11 and single space.
  4. Put a maximum of 5 keywords.

Introduction

  1. The introduction must contain the following aspects such as background of the study, novelty, theories, and objectives of the study. It is written in the form of paragraphs.
  2. Citation is written by following the APA (American Psychological Association) standard, in this case, the model used in APA is body note citation.

Method

It consists of the research design (the method, the data, the data source, the data collecting technique, the data analysis technique, the variables measurement) that written in the form of paragraph.

Result and Discussion

It contains the results of empirical or theoretical study written by a systematic, critical analysis, and informative. The use of tables, images etc. only to support or clarify the discussion and is confined only to support substantial information, e.g, tables of statistical tests, the results of model testing etc. Discussion of results should be argumentative regarding the relevance of the results, theory, previous research and empirical facts, as well as demonstrate the novelty of the findings.

Conclusion

It consists of the conclusion, clarity of new findings, new theories and the possibility of the future research development.

Bibliography

The Bibliography uses APA Citation Style. The references are expected to be 80% of the primary sources originating from national and international journals. Writing citations that are referenced in the script should use reference manager applications such as Mendeley and Zotero.
