PENYERAPAN KATA DAN PERGESERAN MAKNA KOSAKATA BIDANG PERDAGANGAN INTERNASIONAL DALAM BAHASA INDONESIA

Abstract

Globalization has activities that have a strong influence on the change and development of the Indonesian language. One of these activities is international trade. International trade activities have an impact on language change through the absorption of words and shifts in meaning. The aim of this research is for readers to understand vocabulary in the field of international trade through the process of absorbing words and shifting meaning simultaneously in one word. Apart from that, it helps readers to be able to apply writing and understanding Indonesian vocabulary in the field of international trade properly. The method used is a descriptive qualitative method by collecting vocabulary through an international trade dictionary and interpreting it. There are six words, namely barter, export, import, consignment, destination, and order. The results show that word absorption with the adoption process occurs in the words barter and order. Meanwhile, the words export, import, consignment and destination are experiencing word absorption through an adaptation process. The shift in meaning that was found was a narrowing of meaning that occurred in the words consignment, destination, and order. Meanwhile, the words barter, export, and import have not experienced a shift in meaning.
