WUJUD SIKAP KRITIS MAHASISWA TERHADAP PERMASALAHAN SOSIAL DALAM PERGERAKAN MAHASISWA

Abstract

The research entitled "Students’ Criticism Towards Social Problems in the Student Movement", aims to find out how the students express their criticism attitude against existing social problems that is implemented in the student movement, with the hope that the concept of guiding students can be established. Based on the analysis of previous
theories and research, the research method formulates that the criticism attitude of students is measured from their behavior in family, community, and on campus, and from their intellectuality. Social issues are measured from the welfare and security aspects. The student movement is measured from the solidarity action, peaceful protest and demonstration. With the University of Indonesia and the University Trisaksi students as the respondents, the research comes to conclude that: the criticism attitude of students towards social problems is slightly improper since the students tend to care about their personal interests. Students are more concerned with social issues other than security issues. Students prefer solidarity actions carried out on campus than peaceful demonstrations and actions on the roads. Criticism attitude of students towards social problems in the student movement is low. The
higher the criticism attitude of students and social problems, the higher the student movement.

ABSTRACT

Penelitian berjudul “Wujud Sikap Kritis Mahasiswa terhadap Permasalahan Sosial dalam Pergerakan Mahasiswa”, bertujuan mengetahui wujud sikap kritis mahasiswa terhadap permasalahan sosial yang diimplementasikan dalam pergerakan mahasiswa, yang diharapkan menghasilkan konsep pembinaan mahasiswa dalam kegiatan kemahasiswaan. Berdasarkan analisis dari beberapa teori dan penelitian terdahulu, maka metode penelitian
merumuskan bahwa sikap kritis diukur dari perilaku dalam keluarga, masyarakat, dan kampus; dan intelektualitas mahasiswa. Permasalahan sosial diukur dari bidang kesejahteraan dan keamanan. Pergerakan mahasiswa diukur dari aksi aksi solidaritas, aksi damai, dan aksi demontrasi. Dengan responden mahasiswa Universitas Indonesia dan
Universitas Trisakti, diperoleh kesimpulan bahwa: Sikap kritis mahasiswa dalam menghadapi permasalahan sosial kurang baik karena mahasiswa cenderung peduli pada kepentingan pribadinya. Mahasiswa lebih peduli pada permasalahan sosial di bidang kesejahteraan dibadingkan pada permasalahan keamanan. Mahasiswa lebih memilih aksi solidaritas yang dilaksanakan di kampus daripada aksi damai dan demontrasi yang dilaksanakan di jalan. Sikap kritis mahasiswa terhadap permasalahan sosial dalam pergerakan mahasiswa bernilai rendah. Semakin tinggi wujud sikap kritis mahasiswa dan permasalahan sosial, semakin tinggi pergerakan mahasiswa.
